The exciting story of Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde continues in the second Zootopia movie that was released on November 26. The partners take on a new mysterious case covering the reptile population of Zootopia. The Disney team took around two or three years creating this incredible animated picture containing deep social themes and issues, along with exploring growing relationships challenged by the pressure of society.

The audience learned from the first movie that the unity of Zootopia can be threatened due to the same diversity that brought them together. These personified animals judge, exclude, and hold fear over others in their city. Though the first film focused on the danger of predators, the second shows the history of fear revolving around reptiles. This animal society covers the same issues our own world struggles with, those being the exclusion of minorities, immigration, and prejudice that clouds the humanity within citizens. When a snake comes back to Zootopia, the irrational horror rushes back to the city and leads Judy and Nick to take the case. They work together to discover the truth of the past that can save the reptiles of Zootopia from the expansion that will erase them forever.
During this life threatening case, the relationship between Judy and Nick wavers when they must prove themselves to the world. After becoming official partners for the police force in Zootopia and saving the city in the last movie, they strive to continue their work and show that they can be great partners. Yet once they are faced with a new case that could put them both in serious danger, they need to put their differences aside to save Zootopia once again.
I can assure viewers will experience an action-packed movie full of humor and emotion as we follow Judy and Nick on this unexpected adventure. Both the first and second movies capture real social issues in a fun and playful way while also engaging the audience with nerve wracking suspense. If you enjoyed the first Zootopia movie as much as I did, I’m sure you will love the second one with new interesting characters and more mysteries to look forward to. I personally loved both films and thought the stories were excellently written and entertaining to watch.
